VIP Night is our launch of the Parade of Homes. Invitations to this event are extended to the members of the Salt Lake Home Builders and their guests to kick off the Parade. VIP Night is an opportunity to recognize sponsors, suppliers, subcontractors and builder entrants. Also, we take this time to thank the Parade of Homes Steering Committee and Parade Chairwoman, Cheryl Davies as well as all other Parade Sub-Committees for all of their dedicated efforts in preparing for this exciting annual event.

Realtor Day

Realtor Day is a collaborative effort between the Salt Lake Home Builders Association and the Salt Lake Board of Realtors®. The Salt Lake Home Builders extends this early tour of homes as a professional courtesy to Realtors in hopes of generating interest with their current clientele. Realtor Day serves as an opportunity for Realtors to get a “jump start” on the leading trends in the home building industry.
Realtor Day is a two day advanced tour prior to the opening of the Parade for members of the Salt Lake Board of Realtors. In order to be a part of this event, Realtors will be required to purchase their tickets from the Salt Lake Board of Realtors office beginning in July.
Also, during the Realtor Day event, the Parade of Homes Judging and Awards Committee, which consists of an architect, an interior designer, a landscaper, and a Realtor, visit each Traditional Category Home in order to determine who will be recognized as “Best” in various categories such as architecture/home design and interior design in their respective price ranges. The Realtors will also present an award for “Realtors Choice” home.

People’s Choice Awards
This year, the Salt Lake Home Builders Association will be hosting a luncheon to acknowledge all participants who made the Parade possible. The People’s Choice Awards is an event held at the conclusion of the Parade of Homes and recognizes builders on a variety of merits such as participation in the Make-A-Wish program.
The entry home recognized as the People’s Choice Award is determined by Parade attendees who visit a majority of the Traditional Category Homes and submit votes for their favorite home. New this year, Parade attendees can submit votes for their favorite home online or use the back of their Parade ticket to submit votes at the Traditional Homes. In addition to the People’s Choice Award, several other awards are presented to builders; such as the Eagle Award given to the builder who employs the most Salt Lake Home Builder subcontractor members in the building of their Parade Home entry. Also, the Make-A-Wish Foundation presents an award to those builders who participate in creating a room commemorating a child’s wish that has already been fulfilled.
A fabulous prize will be given away to a random Parade attendee who submitted a vote for the People’s Choice Award. These generous prizes are donated by Parade Sponsors.
